Hello, I am Ipek Havuç
I am an aspiring artist working on Traditional Turkish Art mainly Tezhip(art of illumination) and miniature. After taking my bachelors degree in computer sciences, I have started tezhip under the guidance of my mother who is an award winning artist. I am only at the beginning of my journey, and I am more than excited to see what more will I discover about myself in this ocean of knowledge. Pieces in this collection contains tezhip patterns such as leaves, rumi, penç, hatai etc. While creating them I have adapted the traditional method called ‘şukufe tarama’. It is done with making very thin brush strokes with almost dry brush. Strokes are so thin and frequent that eye cannot seperate each stroke, creating a visual harmony. Due to this technique each piece has more than 30K strokes. I hope you like and appreciate them.
